Ambushed by David Millikan

On the night of Friday 12th of October I attended a Universal Medicine presentation at the Lennox Head Community Centre– as I usually do once a month – but this one was different. It was the first time I have left feeling very upset and really sad at what I had just witnessed. David Millikan, the man who was paid by a well known national television station, was on stage and started doing what he was paid for….. to get us to react to what he was saying, and have his crew film it all so they could pick out all the ‘juicy’ bits and make up some rubbish story that we (Universal Medicine) are indeed a ‘cult’. It’s even made all the worse as he had been talking to Serge Benhayon previously and suggested to him that he didn’t believe there was a cult here. That to me is a dog of an act, and it really infuriated me.

It’s a sad fact that we have become a society where certain people make a living out of trying to run others into the ground and ruin their lives. I personally think it’s pathetic what David Millikan did, and I trust that the truth of all this will come out.

Cyber-bullying: The Power of Anonymity

by Rachel Hall, Brisbane, Australia

Definition of Cyber-Bully (Troll)

Cyber-bullying (Trolling) involves the use of information and communication technologies to support deliberate, repeated and hostile behaviour by an individual or group, that is intended to harm others. Cyber-bullying can be as simple as continuing to send e-mails to someone who has said they want no further contact with the sender, but it may also include threats, sexual remarks, pejorative labels (i.e. hate speech), ganging up on victims by making them the subject of ridicule in forums, and posting false statements as fact aimed at humiliation. To honour our tenderness

by Rebecca Poole, Brisbane, Australia

Why do people say “Grow some balls”? Balls are weak and sensitive! If you really want to get tough, grow a vagina! Those things take a pounding! – Betty White

On one hand this is quite funny, and we laugh because it shows the ridiculousness of our world and the way we see ourselves, and possibly . . . if we didn’t laugh we would be crying. Continue reading “To honour our tenderness”

Media manipulation has real life effects

by Anne McRitchie, Chilcotts Grass, NSW Australia

On Friday 12th October, the monthly Universal Medicine lecture on Esoteric Medicine at Lennox Head Community Centre commenced with Serge Benhayon introducing a guest speaker, David Millikan, who had turned up unexpectedly and had asked if he could chat with the audience. Serge allowed the intrusion as in previous discussions David had accurately described the media’s misrepresentation of us as a group, and had been building a polite and respectful relationship with Serge during the four weeks since they first met. He had also twice mentioned that Universal Medicine did not fit the ‘cult’ tag and had given strong evidence as to why not. I mention this to demonstrate the level of deception and deceit that this man, and the media generally, are capable of. Continue reading “Media manipulation has real life effects”

Is Finkelstein a toothless tiger?

by Judy, Australia

The Finkelstein Inquiry looked into the culture, practices and ethics of the media and recommended a News Media Council be established to set journalistic standards and handle complaints made by the public when those standards are breached – so where are its teeth?

The general public has the tendency to accept media reports on face value, and most are unaware of what goes on behind the scenes to get the information that is presented to us as news or current affairs.

After reading people’s accounts of what occurred, as well as speaking to people who were present at the Esoteric Medicine presentation at the Lennox Head Community centre on Friday 12th October, 2012, I now have credible accounts of the means the media used to get their footage. It is abhorrent that a presentation open to the general public, with children present, was raided so mercilessly by David Millikan and his co-workers. From Recognition to True Love – one student’s unfolding

by Anna Karam, Goonellabah, Australia

Before Universal Medicine, life for me was just a game of recognition. There were good days, there were bad, and this depended always on how much or how little I was recognised or accepted by others. The good days saw me loved, appreciated and valued, but this love, appreciation and value never came from within me, it always stemmed from the outside world – my family, peers or work colleagues. My relationship with life and with myself was totally dependent upon the amount of recognition I received. I was very much a product of what life dealt me! Not the typical man-to-man conversation

by Francis Tybislawski, Brisbane, Australia

I attended a Universal Medicine presentation recently, hosted by Serge Benhayon, where there was discussion about how men interact with each other, and the types of conversations they have. In general men are very good at talking or interacting in a certain way and about certain subjects. It is very easy for us to discuss technical things, how things work, how we build things, how we make things work, and what we do for a living. We can discuss sport for hours on end and we discuss things at home, but often in a clinical and structured way. We may venture into how certain things feel, but it is often from a competitive angle. In some ways many conversations are competitive, always proving (or trying to) that our lives are better than other men’s lives, the things we own or have are better than somebody else’s. We use our assets to prove we are doing fine, that our lifestyle is great and consistently growing better.

What we don’t often do is communicate at the human level, about feelings and emotions, in an open and personal way. Continue reading “Not the typical man-to-man conversation”

Shame, Shame, Shame!

by Helen Simkins Bangalow NSW – local Tourist Attraction Manager (Macadamia Castle), Australia

On Friday 12th October, 2012 I attended what was scheduled as an informative talk on the subject of Esoteric Medicine which is generally held several times annually at our local Lennox Head community centre.  I was joined by my 14 year old daughter and, for the first time for them, a close personal friend who works in health and her 12 year old son who had opted to come in with us instead of skating in the park next door.

Much to our dismay we discovered very quickly that this evening was not going to be the human health and wellbeing lecture we were expecting, but was hijacked. Instead we had a firsthand experience of the scurrilous operating methods of a National “News” programme – and this is how it all went. Continue reading “Shame, Shame, Shame!”

Universal Medicine: Your choice and yours alone

by Carmel Reid, Somerset UK

In answer to three questions regarding cults and the three tests suggested by Rev Dr David Millikan, I offer my personal experience of Universal Medicine:-

(1) Does the group allow internal criticism and discussion?

Trusting our ‘True Voice’ and Expression

I have noticed that almost nothing in life supports us to be who we are and to say it how it is.

From the beginning, we seem to be performing for others, with much attention, focus and anticipation given to our every movement… whether we will be a boy or a girl, what we look like, whether we are cute or not, or healthy or not… the list goes on.

The pressure to be what is generally accepted in society as ‘normal’ is astounding and relentless from the beginning. Whether it is better to be bottle-fed or breastfed, whether it is more acceptable to be a boy or a girl, let alone if we are healthy and without impediments and illness… What if a woman doesn’t produce the ‘perfect baby’ for everyone else? What does this then say about her?

More pressure. Continue reading “Trusting our ‘True Voice’ and Expression”
